What We Love About Living and Working in Twickenham

Twickenham isn't just a place to live – it's a place that offers community, great family and outdoor spaces, a brilliant events and entertainment line up, an enviable selection of quality restaurants and pubs and of course, a superb cleaning company - well, I had to, didn't I!

Whether you're a die-hard rugby fan, a family seeking a friendly atmosphere, or a foodie with a discerning palate, Twickenham has something to offer everyone. Here's a glimpse into what makes our charming town such a joy to live and work in:

The Thrill of the Match (and Beyond!)

For rugby enthusiasts, Twickenham is synonymous with passion, camaraderie, and the electrifying roar of the crowd. But even if you're not a die-hard supporter, match days offer a unique experience. The town comes alive with a vibrant energy, pubs buzz with pre-game banter, and restaurants often have special menus or live music to keep the celebrations going. It's a fantastic way to soak up the atmosphere and experience the town at its most spirited.

Church Street: A Quintessential English Stroll

Twickenham's heart lies on Church Street, a charming pedestrianised lane perfect for a leisurely stroll. Families love exploring the independent shops, with a few of our personal favourites being:

  • Rickardo's: Wine, craft beers, and a curated selection of vinyl records – a haven for the discerning adult.

  • The Biltong Guy: Satisfy your savoury cravings with delicious South African cured meats.

  • Old-Fashioned Sweet Shop: Indulge your inner child (or your actual children!) with classic sweets and treats.

  • Rosie Chai: Love the hot drinks, cakes and treats and the wonderful couple who run it

Beyond these gems, Church Street boasts an array of restaurants and pubs catering to all tastes, perfect for alfresco dining or enjoying a refreshing drink with friends.

A Town That Comes Alive: Festivals and Events

Twickenham isn't just about the everyday – it's a place that embraces festivities. Here are a couple of highlights:

  • The High Tide Festival:  Is a celebration of music (up and coming and international talent), local producers and the wonderful Twickenham community? All put on by High Tide Records, hidden in the back of Rickardo's. This has grown into a huge event for the town that is massively enjoyable.

  • Family Events and Markets:  Throughout the year, Twickenham plays host to numerous family-friendly events and markets. From farmers' markets brimming with fresh produce to seasonal fairs and carnivals, there's always something fun and engaging happening around town. (You can find a calendar of events on the Visit Twickenham website or local council website).

  • Borough's Best Banger: I'm started a petition to get this one brought back! It was brilliant, all the independent butchers of the area turn up with barbeques and their latest sizzling sausage offerings. Ably supported by Rickardo's offering local beers and wines.

This is just a taste of what we think makes Twickenham such a special place. We live in Twickenham and built our business, We Clean, up to serve the friendly residents and neighbours who live here!
